Peytan Porter
Peytan Porter is rewriting the rules with a wink and a wild streak. A bold new voice in country’s next chapter, she blends sharp storytelling with a dreamy edge—equal parts grit, grace, and genre-bending originality.

Raised in Dawsonville, Georgia, at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Peytan was the creative middle child with a deep love for lyrics. While other kids were bobbing along to the hits, she was studying the liner notes. She got her start singing in churches and at small-town festivals before moving to Nashville to attend Lipscomb University and dive into songwriting. In 2020, she signed her first publishing deal with Jody Williams Songs and Warner Chappell Music. A year later, a forgotten demo posted to TikTok introduced her to millions.

Her debut project In My Head leaned pop-country, but it was 2023’s Grown EP—featuring “God’s Hotel,” “Speaking of Georgia,” and “Lemonade”—that marked a turning point. Between the two, she began to focus the crystal sonically, carving out a sound that blends alt-country roots with indie-pop shimmer and singer-songwriter soul.

She’s opened for artists like Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Hailey Whitters, and Jon Pardi, and has graced the Grand Ole Opry stage multiple times. As she sings in one of her latest singles “Queen of Appalachia,” she’s “barefoot and busty”—a little wild, deeply rooted, and entirely herself.

Now in a new era, with a new producer and a clearer vision, Peytan is traveling the country in an RV, writing the songs only she can.

Catch her if you can.
