Vice Admiral Carter will speak on topics of Leadership and Ethics followed by an audience Q&A. A short meet and greet before the show will be available for a separate purchase. Walter "Ted" Carter is a retired 3-star Vice Admiral of the US Navy and 1981 graduate of the US. Naval Academy. Highly decorated throughout his 38 years of service, Carter was the 62nd Superintendent of the US Naval Academy, the 54th President of the US Naval War College and currently the 8th President of the University of Nebraska. In addition to graduating from the prestigious Navy TOPGUN school, Vice Admiral Carter has logged over 6,300 flight hours in F-4, F-14 and F-18 aircrafts. His total of 2,016 carrier-arrested landings is still the all-time US Naval record. Vice Admiral Carter flew 125 combat missions including Operation Desert Strom. He is the recipient of the VADM John Stockdale award for Leadership, the US Navy John Paul Jones award for Leadership and the West Coast F-14 Instructor of the Year award. A native of Burrillville RI. Vice Admiral Carter now resides in Lincoln NE. with his wife Lynda where, as the University of Nebraska's President, he is guiding the University to unprecedented heights.
