The past few years, pianist Larry Smith and clarinetist Channing Lynn have been musically collaborating and performing in various venues around Key West. Performing in shows featuring the music of Harry Truman’s era, tributes to the swing era, dixieland shows, jazz clarinet music, 40’s big band music, and general club date work, they have been an eclectic force. They have pleasantly discovered that they are fans of each other’s compositions - and they will be performing selections from their repertoires on Tuesday, April 08. They have assembled an ensemble of highly proficient musicians with whom they often perform. Joe Dallas, bassist, educator, and director of the Paradise Big Band - drummer Skipper Kripitz, quintessential Key West benevolent musician who is comfortable as bandleader or sideman - and globe-trotting, in-demand saxophonist Tim Meyer round out the jazz quintet that will be performing Larry and Channing’s music.
